Samurai is Inspired by a 2019 Samurai exhibition in Munich, the project merges traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern footwear design. Captivated by the intricate details and material combinations of Samurai armor, I aimed to translate this design language into a contemporary shoe. The result is a fusion of historical elegance and modern innovation, incorporating subtle elements of traditional Japanese footwear. To ensure precision in proportions, I began with a rough mock-up using clay on a 3D-printed last before moving to 3D modeling the outsole. This approach allowed for a thoughtful and flexible interpretation of my sketches.
